The Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and URS in conjunction with other professional societies [American Nuclear Society (ANS), the Health Physics Society (HPS), Toastmasters International, the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Federally Employed Women (FEW), America Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and American Association of Cost Engineers – International (AACE-I)] are sponsoring an event on Jan. 23, 2012, at the URS Center for the Performing Arts. This free event will include a panel discussion on Engineering and Technology in the CSRA from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. The panel will be composed of prominent professionals in the engineering and medical technology field from the community. Panelists include: Cheryl Cabbil (URS), Dr. Lynnette McCluskey (Georgia Health Sciences University), Kim Cassara (Savannah River Remediation & Bechtel), Sue King (MOX), Harriet Haynes (Aiken Technical College), and Ria Alexander-Reid (Kimberly Clark). A mini career fair will be held before the event from 5 p.m. - 6:20 p.m. and will feature career booths from local employers in the engineering and technology fields including URS, MOX, Value Added Solutions (VAS), Bridgestone, and Kimberly Clark. The event will be free and open to the public. Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.
